A directory of places in Rochester that support local agriculture
The benefits of buying local food are enormous — not only for your health, but also for the local economy and the environment. So, it should come as good news that more and more businesses in our area are starting to see the benefits of buying local. From breweries to grocery stores, we have assembled a list of Rochester businesses that buy directly from local farmers.
If you know a business that should be included in the directory, please post it to the discussion thread at the bottom of this article. We will review all suggestions before adding them to the list. Please note that we are looking for places that source a large amount of their products/ingredients from farms within 50 miles.
Then make sure to join us this Wednesday from 5:30-7 p.m. at Forager Brewery for an informal conversation on the importance of local agriculture in southeast Minnesota. We will have some free passes to give away for the Feast! food festival being held this Saturday at the Mayo Civic Center.
