One of Rochester's oldest repair shops has a new location
Tilson's Auto Repair, formerly located in the Kmart shopping plaza, opened the doors of its new location on South Broadway Monday morning.
Construction on the new 6,000-square-foot facility began in April. In addition to the building, nearly all of the equipment in the shop is brand new.
“We’ve been telling our customers about the move for nearly a year and they are as excited as we are,” said Ben Tilson, who opened his first shop in 1983. “I started the shop out of my house garage – no hoists, no running water and no heat. We’ve come a long way!”
Tilson runs the business with his two sons, Ben Jr. and Joe. The shop's hours are Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m to 5:30 p.m.
