Rochester team headed to California's Legoland for robotics competition

(THE MED CITY BEAT) - Rochester will be represented at an international robotics tournament in California.

A team of seven local middle school students are headed to San Diego's Legoland in May to compete in the First Lego League's North American Open.

"Peanut Butter Bots" qualified for the competition by finishing third at the Minnesota First Lego League State Tournament earlier this month in St. Paul, according to the league's local chapter

The team competed against more than 70 other groups in the state finals, including three from Rochester. The top two teams advanced to the world competition in St. Louis. 

The First Lego League is a worldwide program that encourages kids to build robots and solve scientific problems. Learn more by visiting the league's website or watching the video below.
