Five people rescued from a burning home in SE Rochester
(THE MED CITY BEAT) - A woman and four children were rescued from their burning home in southeast Rochester late Monday night.
The Rochester Fire Department was called to the 200 block of 13th Avenue SE just after 11 p.m. KROC-AM reports firefighters found five people trapped on the roof when they arrived to the scene.
Crews used a ground latter to get all five victims to safety, according to a report by KTTC-TV. A man and another child were able to escape the building on their own. The fire was put a short time later.

All occupants were treated at the scene by emergency responders. Officials tell KAAL-TV that no injuries were reported, except for minor smoke inhalation.
The Post-Bulletin reports the fire appears to have originated in the kitchen. An official investigation into the incident is under way.
Red Cross assisted the family with lodging and accommodations.
