Mayo Clinic will allow female employees to ditch the pantyhose

Mayo Clinic is loosening up its dress code.

Beginning Friday, Rochester employees will have the option whether to cover their legs when wearing skirts. Prior rules required women to wear pantyhose or tights while on the job.

So how are female employees at Mayo reacting to the change in policy? Here's how one woman described it to KTTC-TV:

You would not believe how excited people are. I mean, it's definitely a reference to the Braveheart 'Freedom!', you know? You want to yell it out, run around and throw your pantyhose out the window.

To be clear, woman can still wear pantyhose under their skirts — they just won't be required to do so. One woman even told the station that she would "prefer to see women with hosiery at work."

The health benefits of wearing pantyhose are about as debatable as whether the undergarments are still fashionable. A quick Google search brings up a host of unreliable information on the 1960s legwear creation.
