Curbside coffee: Bicycle vendor now licensed to set up in downtown Rochester

Curbside coffee: Bicycle vendor now licensed to set up in downtown Rochester

You can now get your iced coffee curbside in downtown Rochester.

On Friday, Old Abe Coffee Co. set up outside Mayo's Gonda Building for the first time. Owner Abe Sauer was recently granted a license from the city to operate his mobile coffee stand at the intersection of Second Street SW and Second Avenue SW in Annenberg Plaza.

Free iced coffees and lattes were handed out to the first 100 people.

Sauer plans to be in the plaza Monday through Friday for the remainder of the summer. His hours will be 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (may be adjusted if necessary).

While Rochester bans food trucks from operating downtown, it does allow a small number of non-motorized carts to operate. Another vendor, Murph's hot dogs, has set up in Peace Plaza the past few summers.

Want to visit the Old Abe coffee trike, but can't make it downtown during the workweek?  You can check out the stand every Saturday at the Rochester Downtown Farmers Market.
