Girl Scouts offering up chance to go 'over the edge' in downtown Rochester
Forget taking a plunge or dumping a bucket of ice water over your head. If you want to raise money for the River Valleys Girl Scouts you’ll have to go ver the Edge — literally.
On June 9, the local chapter of the Girl Scouts will give participants the chance to rappel nine stories down the U.S. Bank building in downtown Rochester. That's the second week of Thursdays on First & 3rd, so there will be quite a crowd.
The event is limited to 76 people who pledge to raise $1,000 or more for the Girl Scouts. Participants must be at least 18 years of age and between 110 and 300 pounds. No rappelling experience is required.
All proceeds from the event directly benefit the Edith Mayo Camp and Program Center in southwest Rochester.
