Porchfest! Neighborhood music festival coming this fall to Kutzky Park

Porchfest! Neighborhood music festival coming this fall to Kutzky Park

There's a new music festival coming to front steps near you. The inaugural Porchfest in Kutzky Park will be held on Sept. 24 from 2 - 6 p.m.

Porchfests are locally organized music events where neighbors host artist performances on their front lawns or steps. Versions of the event have been held in places such as Minneapolis' Kingfield Park neighborhood.

All concerts will be free and face the street. Music lovers are welcome to stroll through the neighborhood and enjoy different performances.

Organizers are currently seeking hosts who live in the Kutzky Park neighborhood and artists who wish to perform. Each group will be assigned a 90-minute time block for their concert.

"If you don't have a porch  steps, driveways or lawns work, too," said Jesse Welsh, president of the Kutzky Park Neighborhood Association.
