Megan Johnston out as executive director of Rochester Art Center
For the second time in two years, the Rochester Art Center is going through a change in leadership. The center's board announced Wednesday that executive director Megan Johnston is no longer with the organization.
In an interview with the P-B, Brad Nuss, president of RAC's board of directors. declined to give a reason for Johnston's departure. "We're looking at appointing an interim director, and then we'll look for a permanent director," he said.
Johnston joined RAC in October 2015 after spending time studying and curating art in Ireland. A native of Stillwater, Minn., she came to Rochester with nearly 20 years of experience leading museums and galleries in the U.S.
Chad Allen, RAC's director of community engagement, could not discuss Johnston's department, but told Med City Beat "the team is positive and continuing along the successful path we've carved."
Johnston could not be reached for comment.
