Rochesterfest Grand Parade set for Saturday

For the first time, the Rochesterfest Grand Parade will be held on a Saturday afternoon. The parade begins at 2 p.m. near Soldiers Field.

Prior to the marching, waving and candy tossing, there will be pre-parade block party on the Rochesterfest grounds. Geared toward families, the event will include stage entertainment, a 25-foot climbing wall and the debut of "Go! Play! Explore! Mobile Recreation" — a joint effort by the city and count that includes a mobile playground with interactive games and equipment.

Other notable events this weekend include:

• Friday, 4-10 p.m., Soldiers Field — TGIF Bash! with live music from LP & the 45’s and Incognito 
• Friday, 6 p.m., Foster Arends — SkiDox Water Ski Show
• Saturday, 6 a.m., Soldiers Field east side — Mayor's Hot Air Balloon Rally
• Saturday, 6-10 p.m., Soldiers Field — Party in the Park featuring music from Brat Pack Radio
• Sunday, 4:30 p.m., History Center of Olmsted County — 1860s Base Ball
