Big Brad's is going country

Big Brad's is going country

Big changes are coming to Big Brad’s downtown.

Owner David Loomis is bringing in a group of local investors to "infuse capital along with new energy and enthusiasm" into the bar, according to an announcement this week. The plan is to transition the establishment, which first opened in 2010, into a country-themed bar by early next year.

In the meantime, the bar — located at 309 South Broadway next to Kathy's Pub and the Chocolate Twist — will remain open as Big Brad's.

While the transition is under way, the ownership team — which now includes Cameron Dyrseth, Peter Liang and Tanner Reeve — says customers can still count on the same friendly service and hometown atmosphere.

In the coming weeks, the bar plans to do away with its Friday salsa nights (though the Tuesday dancing will continue for now). It also plans to introduce a dart league on Wednesday and Thursday nights.
