Rochester is getting its own comic convention
Comic fans, are you geeking out yet?
Because if you're not, then you probably haven't heard about what the crew over at Nerdin Out has in the works. The Rochester comic store plans to host its first comic convention on September 8 & 9 at Graham Arena.
Similar to other fiction festivals held around the world, NerdinOut Con will feature a lineup of film stars plus 20-30 vendors with collectibles, video games and comics. Geared toward families and adult fans alike, there will be an arcade alley, facepainting and a real-life Ghostbusters Ecto-1 vehicle.
And of course, attendees are encouraged to get dressed up.
"Rochester deserves this event," said Brad Vigessa, who along with his business partner Jake Scharpen, are organizing the event. "We have a lot of comic book, toy collectors, video game players that travel to go to these events. Why not give them one where they can stay in their city?"
If you want to get involved with NerdinOut Con, or just follow along for updates, make sure to check out the event's Facebook page. Vigessa said they are still taking applications for sponsors and vendors.
