Rochester photographer embraces collaboration with new studio concept

Brendan Bush wants to help you perfect your shot.

Bush, who has been a professional photographer for two decades, recently opened a collaborative studio space near Silver Lake in Rochester.

Equipped with everything you might need for a shoot — from lighting to backdrops — MedCity Studio gives photographers and videographers of all abilities access to the same tools used by professionals.

"Photography has been a good to me," said Bush. "It's given me an outlet and a career goal when I was a meandering teen. After college as a photojournalist, it gave me access into people's lives and a way to share their stories. Now, it gives me a way to capture memories of my children as they grow up and preserve the highlights."

The goal, Bush said, is to remove the financial barriers that often prevent budding creatives from taking their photography to the next level. "I want other people to understand this powerful medium beyond just snap shots."

The 650-square-foot space is available for rent at $45 an hour. In the future, Bush also plans to offer workshops and meet-ups for local photographers.

"I want MedCity Studio to be an asset to our community as it grows."
