Rochester tops city health index
When it comes to being healthy and having access to high-quality healthcare, there is no better city than Rochester, according to a new report.
Healthgrades, which operates a comprehensive physician rating and comparison database, released its 2019 National Health Index this week. The study weighed factors like the percentage of residents who maintain healthy lifestyles, as well as proximity to top medical institutions and specialists.
The Rochester metro finished with the highest overall ranking, followed by Burlington, Vermont and Charleston, South Carolina. Cincinnati and Baltimore rounded out the top five.
According to the index, Rochester residents reported the highest satisfaction with and had the greatest number of specialists per capita. Not surprisingly, Rochester’s population also had the best access to high quality hospitals.
