Plans for Rochester's first trampoline park are leaping forward

Scott and Katrina Pulham say their business, Air Insanity, could open to the public as early as July. They are working on building a 30,000 square-foot indoor trampoline center in the former Big Lots space along U.S. 14.

"We believe that Air Insanity will bring a whole new form of entertainment to the area and will have a greater focus on family fitness, health and entertainment for all ages," Scott told us.

Designed for people of all ages, Air Insanity will feature — among other things — 10,000 square feet of trampolines, a ninja warrior course, dodgeball court, slam dunk courts, toddler area and laser maze. 

"We hope to be the ultimate destination for active social outings, memorable birthday parties, intense individual workouts, competitive team sports, creative fundraisers and just plain fun," said Scott.

The Pulhams, who have two children themselves, say they understand the importance of having fun and active things for families to do year round. 

"Rochester needs more family friendly activities for kids of all ages," said Scott.  "Everyone is looking for healthy activities for their kids and the whole family. We want to bring fun and exercise together." 

Trampoline centers have been popping up all over the place in recent years. The International Association of Trampoline Parks estimates there are now more than 1,000 parks worldwide, compared to just three in 2009.
