Austin stepping down as executive director of the Rochester Art Center
The Rochester Art Center is once against in the search for a new leader.
This week the organization announced Brian Austin would be stepping down from his role as executive director by the end of the year.
Austin has led the organization since December 2017 when he took over during a period of instability and financial uncertainty.
A news release from the organization’s board of directors says Austin helped to stabilize finances, build confidence with funders and community partners, and improve technical and operational gaps.
“Brian’s strategic plan, creative initiatives and managerial oversight has readied RAC for its next stage of development,” said Tracy Austin, board chair of the Art Center.
The board will now begin the process of filling the executive director position for the fourth time in five years.
The board says it expects a smooth transition. Despite his resignation, Austin plans to stay on with the Art Center as a consultant.
