Downtown rooftop to re-open in August

Downtown rooftop to re-open in August

If you like to dance, this news will likely come as music to your ears.

We learned today that the rooftop venue formerly known as La Vetta will re-open by August 1. The bar, located atop the H3 Plaza building at 30 Third Street Southeast, had closed in March so it could be reconceptualized.

According to the announcement, the venue will now take on more of a dance club vibe — with DJs coming in from across the country, along with themed evenings such as salsa dancing and electronic dance music.

The driving force behind the new concept is Entourage Events Group. The Minneapolis-based company — which runs a number of high-profile Twin Cities’ venues — will handle the operations of H3 Rooftop.

This will be Entourage’s first venue in the Med City. It had finished as a runner-up in its pursuit of both the Castle and the Chateau Theatre.

The one physical change to the rooftop now is that the kitchen has been reduced in size. After the summer, however, more significant changes will be made, including the addition of a large dance area and more seating.
