Hy-Vee acquires Weber & Judd pharmacies
Hy-Vee announced Monday that it has reached a deal to acquire the business of all Weber & Judd pharmacies in southeast Minnesota.
Weber & Judd has served the area for more than a century and a half. The business dates back to 1862, a year before W.W. Mayo arrived in Rochester.
“Weber & Judd has been an exemplary provider of pharmacy care for more than 150 years,” said Randy Edeker, Hy-Vee’s board chair, CEO and president. “Combining Weber & Judd with our Hy-Vee Pharmacy family is a perfect match because we both pride ourselves on providing an excellent experience to our customers.”
Patient files will automatically transfer to Hy-Vee, and the locations will be renamed as Hy-Vee HealthMarket Rx pharmacies. Weber & Judd patients will receive a letter from their new pharmacy with additional details.
The transition is expected to happen in mid-April.
Hy-Vee said it anticipates Weber & Judd employees will continue working at their respective locations as Hy-Vee employees.
There are currently 10 Weber & Judd pharmacies in southeast Minnesota, including two in Rochester.
