Rochester contestants shine on national TV
Wednesday made for a good night to turn on the television, with two local talents advancing to the finals of their respective shows.
On FOX, local contestant Shari Mukherjee earned a coveted white apron on the popular cooking program, “MasterChef.” Mukherjee is among 20 finalists who will compete for the $250,000 grand prize.

For the first time, the season 10 winner will also get the chance to learn hands-on in each of the judge’s restaurants. For those not familiar with the show, the judges are Gordon Ramsay, Aarón Sanchez and Joe Bastianich.
Meantime, over on NBC, Roo Yori made yet another appearance on “American Ninja Warrior.” Not only did Yori, known as the K9 Ninja, make it over the wall — advancing to the finals in Atlanta — he also received a $20,000 check to support his Wallace the Pitbull Foundation.
