Nonprofit to host 'Faces of Homelessness' gallery event

The Landing MN, a nonprofit that works with individuals experiencing homelessness, will host a gallery event on Tuesday.

The Faces of Homelessness: a G.E. Koenig Gallery event will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Pasquale’s Neighborhood Pizzeria in downtown Rochester.

The nonprofit hopes the event will “help pull back the curtain and show the real reasons why some face homelessness, outside of the typical taboos.”

During the event, The Landing MN will highlight some of the obstacles faced by Rochester’s homeless population, which it estimates at nearly 400, along with its own financial needs as it works to better assist the homeless.

We recently highlighted some of the organization’s work in a recent article by Bryan Lund. Dan Fifield, of The Landing MN, said this of his approach: “We believe that the homeless population needs people that will walk side by side with them to help them find the resources that they need to transition from the streets to a better living situation.”

Here is the link to that story.

You can also RSVP for the event on Facebook here.
