Cameo by the Riverside to pop up on the Civic Center patio this summer

Cameo restaurant is partnering with Experience Rochester to create a new outdoor dining experience along the Mayo Civic Center patio.

The popular eatery will set up on the south plaza overlooking the Zumbro River on Friday and Saturday evenings beginning July 10.

The partnership came to be after Experience Rochester, formerly known as the Rochester Convention and Visitors Bureau, put a call-out to restaurants who could benefit from additional outdoor seating because of Covid-19.

“As a community partner, we wanted to help” said Joe Ward, president of Experience Rochester. “We have a beautiful plaza sitting empty, and if we can create a new experience for Rochester that includes great food and live music in a unique setting, we are going to do it. We want to help the hospitality community in any small way that we can.”

Cameo by the Riverside will offer casual French brasserie-style food prepared fresh, according to a news release. There will also be live local music. Reservations are recommended (for 4:30 p.m., 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. time slots), though walk-ups will be welcomed if space allows.

All social distancing guidelines will be followed, including staff wearing masks, tables properly spaced out and party-size limits.

Dinner reservations can be made by calling Cameo at 507-361-2070.
