Experience Rochester adds new visitor kiosk to Peace Plaza
Rochester’s tourism bureau has set up a new visitor information booth on the west end of Peace Plaza near the Gonda Building.
According to Experience Rochester, the booth was developed in response to the growing number of visitors to downtown (a result of Mayo Clinic broadening elective procedures following an initial scaling back of operations at the onset of the pandemic).
The former visitor kiosk, which had been located on the east end of the plaza, was torn down earlier this year to make way for the Heart of the City construction project.
“We want people to feel welcomed and cared for,” Joe Ward, president of Experience Rochester, said in a prepared statement. “In these changing times, we want to be a friendly face sharing our unique offerings; including how businesses are adhering to safety guidelines. This is a great opportunity to promote local businesses to guests of our city and show them that Rochester is ready to safely serve them.”
The visitor booth is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
