Additional $3.4 million in economic support available to Olmsted Co. businesses, nonprofits
Olmsted County businesses and nonprofits impacted by Covid-19 are invited to apply for another round of relief funding.
There is a total pool of $3.4 million available, with priority going to businesses and organizations ordered closed as part of Gov. Walz’s executive order shutting down restaurants, gyms, and other venues.
Once again, the County will be working with the Rochester Area Economic Development, Inc. to facilitate grants to businesses and Rochester Area Foundation to distribute money to nonprofits. The grants are being made available as part of the State of Minnesota County Relief Funding Program.
With both programs, grants up to $25,000 will be awarded to entities that can demonstrate financial hardship related to the Covid-19 outbreak, specifically a 25 percent or greater decrease in revenue. Grants will be based on up to 50 percent of lost revenue from October 1 to December 31, 2020.

Disclosure: Med City Beat received $1,785.50 in business relief funding in November 2020. That round of funding was available to businesses that saw their revenue decline in the early portion of the pandemic.
