Delta dropping RST to Atlanta route
Delta Air Lines is ending nonstop service between Rochester and Atlanta.
The flight is among 10 routes being dropped by the airline, according to a report from The Points Guy. Delta is also eliminating three routes from Minneapolis to Lancing, Mich., Freeland, Mich., and Tulsa, Okla.
The discontinuation of routes is part of a larger trend as airlines look to cut down on costs by eliminating nonstop flights to small market airports.
In recent months, United has also axed a number of flights at regional airports, including a nonstop option from Rochester to Denver.
Delta, meantime, will continue to provide service from Rochester to Minneapolis. RST is also served by American Airlines with service to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport; and beginning in February, Sun Country will offer nonstop routes to Phoenix and Fort Myers, Fla.
