Rochester's Mayo Clinic named nation's top hospital for sixth straight year
This week Mayo Clinic achieved the ‘six-peat.’
The Rochester hospital was once again named the number one hospital in America by U.S. News & World Report. Mayo’s campuses in Arizona and Florida were also named the best hospitals in their respective states.
"This recognition reflects our staff's consistent performance in improving the lives and health of people throughout our community, across the nation as well as worldwide," said Dr. Andrew Limper, Mayo’s interim chief value officer, in an announcement posted late Monday. "I am proud of the staff with whom I work alongside every day and who are driven to provide quality and equitable care to each of our patients.”
Renowned institutions Cleveland Clinic, UCLA Medical Center, Johns Hopkins, and Massachusetts General Hospital rounded out the top five.
There is little more to add to this story — though we do want to offer a heartfelt thank you to all of the health care workers and researchers in Rochester for helping us persevere through this pandemic. Our community is grateful.
