RCTC instructor selected as NASA space ambassador
Rochester Community and Technical College physics instructor Rod Milbrandt, PhD, has been named a NASA Space Physics Ambassador.
As one of eight instructors named to the Temple/American Association of Physics Teachers group of the NASA Heliophysics Education Activation Team (HEAT), Milbrandt is responsible for helping create training materials for introductory physics teaching at the community college and university levels.
The program reaches 341 teachers in 23 states and seven countries, impacting thousands of students. Subjects include velocity of coronal mass ejections, stellar spectra and their interactions with planetary atmospheres, and terrestrial magnetism and the heliosphere.
Milbrandt has been with RCTC since 2002. He most recently traveled to San Juan, Puerto Rico for training with HEAT.
