Why I support Deborah Seelinger's re-election to the Rochester School Board

Why I support Deborah Seelinger's re-election to the Rochester School Board

Please join me in voting for Deborah Seelinger for Seat 3 on the Rochester School Board on November 8th. I first met Deb as a fellow middle school parent. She has been a proactive leader in the Rochester education community for many years, and this has helped to make her an effective School Board member. Deborah served as President of the Rochester Area Council PTSA and the Churchill/Hoover PTA President prior to serving on the School Board. While a School Board member, she has continued to work with the Area Council to obtain three National PTA grants to be implemented in Rochester – Urban Family Engagement Network, Smart from the Start, and Healthy School Meals.

Deb has also been a member of the GATEway Board, advocating for the needs of our gifted and talented students to the school district. She has served as Rochester Public School Foundation president, helping to fund programs and projects that enhanced our students’ experience. In 2016-2017, Deb is serving as the president of the Minnesota State PTSA organization, and in that role she brings a wealth of connections and knowledge to her ongoing education work in our city, region, and state.

Deborah continues to look beyond her votes at School Board meetings to work with the Rochester community to improve educational opportunities for all of our children.  We are lucky to have her and I offer her my wholehearted re-election support. I encourage all to do the same.
