Rochester businesses collaborating for day-long Oktoberfest celebration

Rochester businesses collaborating for day-long Oktoberfest celebration

This weekend, a group of local businesses are teaming up for an Oktoberfest focused on crafts, community and, of course, beer.

The all-ages celebration is scheduled for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Dwell Local in Rochester. The eclectic shop — known for its collection of unique, one-of-a-kind items — is co-hosting the event in partnership with Grand Rounds Brewing Company, Tessa’s Office and the Rochester MN Moms Blog.

“This event is a collaboration between groups that share a love for the Rochester community,” says Tessa Leung, COO of Grand Rounds Brewing and owner of Tessa’s Office.

The multi-faceted event includes:

Fall Market featuring makers, vintage, repurposed and found items.

Beer Garden with German food from Grand Rounds Brewing Co. and Minnesota craft beers from Grand Rounds, LTS Brewing, Fairstate Brewing, Bauhaus Brew Labs and others.

Wine Tasting by Tessa’s Office showcasing more than 40 wines perfect for autumn and the holidays.  Several wine representatives will be on hand to guide tasters through the selections.  Tasting hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Moms Lounge Tent created by Rochester MN Moms Blog. Moms can relax with friends and enjoy snacks, swag and door prizes from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

"We have always been passionate about supporting local businesses and creating opportunities for women to come together to build community," says Becky Montepetit, owner and founder of the Rochester MN Moms Blog.

She adds, "I jumped at the chance to host a lounge tent for moms at this event as it is the perfect place for friends to come together, both new and old. My favorite thing about Rochester MN Moms Blog is creating these opportunities for women to find their people."

Oktoberfest will be held rain or shine at Dwell Local, located at 602 7th Street NW, Rochester, within the Cooke Park Design District. Admission to the Fall Market and Beer Garden is free. Wine tasting tickets are $10 per person, and are available on Eventbrite

The Oktoberfest is part of a full day of events happening locally. Also taking place on Saturday are Art Blitz and the Hiding Artists Tour

"I love that all three of them are happening on the same day," says Paul Bennett, owner of Dwell Local. "I think people are getting really energized and excited because they're all grassroots."

You can RSVP for Oktoberfest on Facebook.
