Let's talk pot: Group announces first-ever cannabis conference in Rochester
Sensible Minnesota, a pro-marijuana advocacy group, will hold a conference on medical cannabis next month in Rochester.
“Medical Cannabis: An Essential Primer for Minnesota” is scheduled for Nov. 24 at the Mayo Civic Center. There is no cost to attend, although Sensible suggests a donation of $50 for the day or $25 for a half day.
This will be the the state’s first-ever conference on medical cannabis, according to the group. The event will provide an overview of cannabis as a medicine, information on current state laws and updates from Minnesota’s two manufacturers, Minnesota Medical Solutions and Leafline Labs.
“We hope to see Olmsted County’s stakeholders – patients, doctors, law enforcement, attorneys, social workers, etc. – take this opportunity to learn more about medical marijuana,” board member Maren Schroeder said in a news release.
John Marshall grad Payton Curry will speak at the event. Curry now works as a chef in Arizona, where he teaches patients how to prepare their own pot-laced treatments.
