Dairy Queen serving free ice cream cones all day Monday
(THE MED CITY BEAT) - Dairy Queen — with more than a dozen locations in southeast Minnesota — is celebrating its 75th anniversary by giving away free ice cream on Monday.
Note: Some area locations are stilled closed for the season. Contact your neighborhood DQ to check each location's hours.
The company will serve each customer one free small vanilla soft-serve cone, according to a news release.
The fact that the temperature will be close to 70 degrees in southeast Minnesota on Monday is purely a coincidence. The company chose March 16 because it's the 75th day of the year.
A breezy, mild Monday. Not much sun today, but temps will be 25 degrees warmer than normal. Enjoy! #rochmn #mnwx pic.twitter.com/bDMIhGwZED

The restaurant chain will also be accepting donations for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. DQ has raised more than $100 million for the nonprofit in the past 30 years, notes the release.
The Minneapolis-based company has about 6,400 locations in more than two dozen countries. The company plans to announce other promotions throughout the year to celebrate its 75th anniversary.
