(THE MED CITY BEAT) - The sports retailer Scheels is one month away from opening its new store at the Apache Mall in Rochester.

The 144,000-square-foot store is set open on April 11. The company is holding a "sneak peak" event for the media on March 26 to show off the new building.

The company says the location will be a collection of fully-staffed entertainment venues, specialty shops and boutiques — offering a similar experience to a Cabela's store. Scheels sells everything from bicycles and skis to running shoes and fishing equipment.

The Rochester store will offer the largest selection of guns in southeast Minnesota. Products will range from everyday shooters to $20,000 collectible firearms, notes the company's website.

Notable attractions will include an arcade, shooting gallery, and a deli and fudge shop that promises to serve Startbucks coffee.

The new Scheels store will employ more than 250 associates. The company has about two dozen stores in 10 states including Iowa, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
