Former VP Mondale treated for the flu at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester
(THE MED CITY BEAT) - Former U.S. Vice President Walter Mondale was treated for the flu Friday at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
He was released early Saturday, according to the Post-Bulletin.

CNN reports Mondale, 87, was diagnosed during a routine checkup following a fever. He was scheduled to introduce former President Jimmy Carter at a Nobel Peace Prize Forum in Minneapolis later in the day.
"He said [to] tell everybody he is doing well," Carter said during his speech.
Mondale served under Carter between 1977 and 1981. He later ran for president, but lost to Ronald Reagan in one of the biggest landslides in U.S. history.
His résumé also includes time as Minnesota Attorney Attorney, two terms in the U.S. Senate and a few years in the 90s as the U.S. Ambassador to Japan under President Bill Clinton.
The Star Tribune notes Mondale, a native of Martin County, underwent heart surgery at Mayo last year, just days after the death of his wife, Joan Mondale.
