(THE MED CITY BEAT) - Northstar Bar on Broadway recently sold a $1 million scratch ticket to one lucky patron.

The big winner, Adam Schroeder of Hayfield, collected the prize at the Minnesota Lottery headquarters in Roseville last Friday. After taxes, he collected a lump sum of about $680,000.

Schroeder won the prize by playing the Minnesota State Lottery's Million Dollar Mania $30 scratch-off game. The odds of winning the top prize are about 1 in 366,647.

For every dollar spent on the lottery, about 24 cents goes toward Minnesota programs. Over the years, lottery players have helped raise the state more than $2.4 billion.
