Rochester business fails an alcohol compliance check for the sixth time
(THE MED CITY BEAT) - Jeff's Little Store in Rochester has failed an alcohol compliance check for the sixth time in less than four years.
The store, located at 3335 Marion Road SE, was cited for selling alcohol to an underage buyer during an operation by the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office on Monday. Oak Summit Golf Course also failed the test.
Both businesses may be fined by the local licensing authority, while the at-fault clerks could face criminal charges. According the sheriff's office, 30 other businesses passed the compliance check.
Before this latest incident, the Jeff's store on Marion had been busted for selling to underage buyers three time since 2011. Its location on Highway 52 has also been cited twice.
In a recent national survey, an estimated 7.6 percent of underage drinkers purchased their own alcohol the last time they drank.
