Fire destroys mobile home in southeast Rochester (updated)

(THE MED CITY BEAT) - A fire destroyed a mobile home in southeast Rochester Thursday morning, displacing 11 people.

The fire was reported shortly after 9 a.m. at Oak Terrace Estates, located in the 1600 block of Marion Road SE. The fire has been put out but the structure is a total loss, according to assistant fire marshal Larry Mueller.

No injuries were reported. Three people, including a 5-month old baby, were home at the time but escaped the building before the fire spread.

The Red Cross is assisting the home's occupants. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
