Organic grocery chain to open new Rochester location in September

Organic grocery chain to open new Rochester location in September

A new organic grocery store is scheduled to open soon in southwest Rochester.

Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage plans to open its new location next to the TJ Maxx Plaza on Tuesday, Sept. 15. According to the company, there will be a grand opening celebration and preview days for VIP members.

The location puts the store within a 5-minute drive from both the People's Food Co-op and Trader Joe's, two stores that also emphasize organic and natural food.

Like the co-op, it will have a large selection of vitamins and dietary supplements. Prices should be in line with the co-op, but a little higher than Trader Joe's. All three companies support higher standards for animal welfare.

Natural Grocers, now in its 60th year, has 100 locations in 17 states. This will be the Colorado-based company's first store in Minnesota.
