Rochester weather: Snow this weekend, sub-zero temperatures next week
Winter is here to stay in southeast Minnesota.
Expect seasonably cool temperatures with brisk winds for the rest of the week. There may also be some snow flurries, though no accumulations is expected through Friday, according to the National Weather Service in La Crosse.
Then a low pressure system will move into the area for the weekend, bringing "several inches" of snow to parts of the region. Current models predict up to a foot of snow falling Saturday through Tuesday in the Rochester area.
Once the snow moves out, the bitterly cold Arctic air should move in. By the early part of next week, NWS says highs may struggle to reach 10 degrees, lows will fall below zero, and wind chills may drop down to -20 degrees.
Dress warm, drive safe and be nice to your neighbor.
