Rochester-based tech company adding office in Phoenix

The Rochester-based tech company Corporate Web Services (CWS) announced plans on Wednesday to expand its operations to Arizona.

The addition of a Phoenix office marks CWS's first big move outside of Rochester. Founded in 1996, the company develops websites, applications and marketing strategies for businesses in a wide range of industries including health care and manufacturing.

“Phoenix is a natural choice for expansion of CWS,” said Alan De Keyrel, the company's owner. “Not only does Phoenix have a vibrant and growing economy, but it also has an excellent pool of web talent."

The company had been exploring opportunities to expand to the Southwest for several years. The Phoenix office, located right in the city's downtown, will be headed up by Todd Tamcsin, an Arizona native with a background in digital development and marketing leadership.

CWS plans to add up to 20 employees to its Phoenix location over the next five years. The company already has a team of two dozen programmers, marketers and other specialists at its Rochester office.

Though not a primary reason for choosing the city, it's worth noting that one of Mayo Clinic's three majors campuses (in addition to Rochester and Jacksonville) is located in the Phoenix metro.
