Mexican restaurant closes its doors in downtown Rochester
A Mexican eatery in downtown Rochester has closed its doors for good.
El Loro, located on Fourth Street SE, recently announced the closure on its Facebook page. No additional details were given. The business's owner was unavailable for comment Tuesday morning.
The restaurant opened in 2012 inside the former Chicago Great Western Railroad Company Depot. The 115-year-old building has been home to multiple other Mexican restaurants since the start of the millennium.
It's unclear what's in store for the depot, though it seems possible another restaurant could take its place. The Post-Bulletin reported earlier this month that the building was sold in November to a group of investors using the name The Med City Restaurant Group.
El Loro has four other restaurants in the Twin Cities area.
