Hannibal Buress coming to town for three shows at Goonie's Comedy Club

Comedian Hannibal Buress is bringing his stand-up routine to Rochester for three intimate shows next week at Goonie's Comedy Club.

Buress will take the stage Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights. He will be joined by special guest Kevin Bozeman. Tickets are $30 each.

Though Goonie's consistently attracts nationally-touring comedians for its weekend shows, Buress is an unusually big name for the club.

In addition to his role on Comedy Central's critically-acclaimed series Broad CityBuress co-hosts Adult Swim's The Eric Andre Show. Just last month he released a new hour-long Netflix special titled "Comedy Camisado."

Buress, though, is perhaps best known for a single joke he made in 2014 about Bill Cosby. “Pull your pants up black people, I was on TV in the ‘80s,” he said during a show in Philadelphia. “Yeah, but you rape women, Bill Cosby. So turn the crazy down a couple notches.”

A short clip of the joke went viral and, in the words of the LA Times' Tre'vell Anderson, paved "the way for a media firestorm in which countless alleged victims of The Cosby Show patriarch accused him of sexual assault."
