New apartment complex will offer private pet park, children's play area
A new $20 million luxury apartment complex set to open in southeast Rochester will feature one of the city's first private pet parks.
Preserve on Maine will offer 17 floor plan options — from studio to three bedrooms — in a "resort style" atmosphere. The units are being targeted toward millennials and boomers looking for a "community oriented environment."
Residents will have access to a 24/7 fitness center along with classes for yoga, aerobics, cardio and strength training. The community also features a pool, outdoor lounge, clubroom and an outdoor play area for children.
Additionally, the complex is located along walking and biking trails — and is only a five minute walk to shopping and restaurants at Shoppes on Maine.
The apartments will be available for rent beginning November 1.
Correction: A previous version of this story mistakenly stated this would be Rochester's first private pet park. However, as Facebook commenters pointed out, at least two other complexes have private, fenced-in areas for pets.
