Purple Ice: Rochester's ninth annual SocialIce will feature Prince-themed bar
The Rochester Downtown Alliance has announced the seven local establishments participating in this winter's SocialICE. Each business will serve up hand-crafted cocktails on its own custom 12-foot ice bar.

- Dooley's Pub: Beauty and the Beast
- Martinis at the Kahler Grand: 8-bit Video Game
- Kathy's Pub: Jurassic Pub
- Chester's Kitchen & Bar: The Adams Family
Going into its ninth year, SocialICE has become one of Rochester's most highly-anticipated events of the winter. More than 45,000 people attended the three-day event in 2015 (attendance dipped in 2016 due to warm temperatures).
The annual festival is free and open to the public. In addition to the ice sculptures, there will also be live DJs on hand warming up the crowd with music, as well as special-effects lighting and pixel-mapped LED screens.
Attendees will have the chance to vote for their favorite ice bar. The business with the most votes wins the Ice Bar Champ's Cup and a guaranteed spot in SocialICE 2018. Last year, Chester's took home the coveted top prize.
The ninth annual SocialICE runs from February 16-18 in Peace Plaza.
