A winter storm is expected to move into the area on Wednesday.
As much as 7-10 inches of snow is possible, the National Weather Service in La Crosse said Tuesday morning. However, that estimate could change over the next 24 hours depending on the storm's trajectory.
Daytime highs could reach the upper 40s, potentially causing a wintry mix of rain and snow. Travel conditions will become difficult to hazardous.
Snowfall is expected to pick up during the evening. Forecasters say some thunderstorms could also be mixed in at times.
The one bright spot of the week will be Tuesday, which could reach 60 degrees. After the storm, temps should stay in the 30s the rest of the week.
