Food trucks will start serving up lunch this week in downtown Rochester

Food trucks will start serving up lunch this week in downtown Rochester

Expect more food trucks downtown this season.

Beginning Tuesday, at least three mobile food vendors will begin setting up for lunch along Second Avenue Southwest.

In addition to Back Alley Kitchen, the only truck to test the downtown lunch market last summer, two other businesses have plans to serve the central business district in 2017: Twisted Barrel Wood Fired Pizza and Catering For All It's Worth.

The Back Alley Kitchen

Muharem Dedic, a Bosnia native, started Back Alley with another local chef, Fred Regal, who hails from Austria. The two have blended their tastes and experiences to create a unique menu rich with international flavor. The food, all of which is made from scratch, ranges from a Bosnian cevapi to a Vienna schnitzel.

Twisted Barrel Wood Fired Pizza

Owned and operated by Derrick Chapman, Twisted Barrel serves up pizza the way it was intended to be cooked — over the flames of a wood fire. All their pizzas are made to order and prepared in just a few minutes. Can't make it downtown for the lunch hour? Twisted Barrel regularly sets up outside LTS and Kinney Creek breweries on the weekends, and has plans to do at least one late night a week outside Methodist Hospital.

Catering For All It's Worth

The Catering For All It's Worth Food Truck will also be making its debut downtown this week. Chef Bryan Bachman, owner of Nowhere Special, plans to offer a traditional menu of burgers, fries, wings and grilled cheese. Like Twisted Barrel, you can find this truck parked outside the local breweries on various weekends.
