Noseworthy visiting the White House to discuss veterans health care
Mayo Clinic President and CEO John Noseworthy will visit the White House Tuesday to "share Mayo Clinic's insights and expertise on improving the access to and quality of care for the nation's veterans," according to a memo sent out via Mayo's internal communication system.
Noseworthy is scheduled to meet with Dr. David Shulkin, the Trump Administration's choice to head the Department of Veterans Affairs. He will be joined by leaders from Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins Medicine, Partners HealthCare and Kaiser Permanente.
The memo says, "The nonpartisan group of leaders share one common mission: to offer insights, expertise and support to improve the health care for our nation's veterans."
"Participation in this meeting is aligned with Mayo Clinic's long-standing tradition of service and civic engagement," Dr. Noseworthy said in a statement. "We hope to enrich the VA with out scientific and medical knowledge, apply our expertise to a pressing topic of national concern, and above all, inspire hope and contribute to the health and well-being of our nation's veterans."
