Trump to hold rally in Rochester
President Donald Trump will make a stop in Rochester next week.
The president will visit the Mayo Civic Center for a MAGA rally on Thursday, October 4, according to an announcement from the Republican Party of Minnesota. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. (tickets available online).
Trump’s visit comes ahead of the critical mid-term elections, in which Republicans are attempting to hold onto both chambers of Congress.
Minnesota District 1 is considered to be one of the most closely-contested House races in the country. Republican Jim Hagedorn, who lost the 2016 election by less than a point, is facing Democrat Dan Feehan.
For President Trump, it will be the second visit to Minnesota this year. In June, he spoke in front of more than 8,000 supporters in Duluth.
Trump lost to his opponent, Hillary Clinton, by less than 2 percentage points in Minnesota in 2016. In Olmsted County, the margin was less than 1 point.
