Gin Blossoms to headline Down by the Riverside season opener

Some big concert news coming out of the city's music department.

We learned this week that the Gin Blossoms will headline the 2018 Down by the Riverside season opener on July 8. The group — which made a splash in the 90s with hits like "Found Out About You," "Hey Jealousy" and "Follow You Down" — has sold more than 10 million records worldwide.

Rochester punk rockers Fall Risk will open for the Gin Blossoms.

Also announced this week: Country artist Chase Bryant will perform Sunday, July 29. Bryant, who is just 24 years old, has produced two singles that have made their way into the top 10 on Billboard's country airplay chart.

Bryant will be joined by the local group JT and the Gunslingers.

The free outdoor concerts are held Sundays nights in July and August at Rochester’s Mayo Park. The remaining four Down by the Riverside shows will be announced in the coming weeks.
