Margo Price to perform Down by the Riverside
We learned this morning that singer-songwriter Margo Price will headline week 5 of the Down by the Riverside concert series on August 5.
Price, a longtime fixture of the East Nashville music community, has made a name for herself in recent years following the debut of her first solo album, Midwest Farmer’s Daughter. The album, released by Jack White's Third Man Records, was ranked by Rolling Stone as one of the top 20 albums of 2017.
In recent years, Price has made appearances on NPR, Saturday Night Live, Colbert, Fallon and CBS This Morning, while also sharing stages and bills with the likes of Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris and Chris Stapleton.
She will be joined by opener Almighty American on her stop to Rochester. The Minnesota-based group includes Century High graduate Michael Gay.
The 2018 Down by the Riverside concert series opens Sunday, July 8 with the Gin Blossoms. All the shows are held in Rochester's Mayo Park (located behind the Mayo Civic Center) and are free and open to the public.
