Smash Mouth, 38 Special top 2021 Down by the Riverside lineup
Mayo Park will come back to life this summer with Rochester Civic Music announcing the return of the Down by the Riverside concert series.
The free outdoor series will take place over six Sundays from July 11 through August 15 — and will feature an assorted lineup that includes 90s hit-maker Smash Mouth, country star Lindsay Ell, Minnesota-based singer-songwriter Chastity Brown, and the classic rock band 38 Special.
Consistent with past summer lineups — sans 2020, when the pandemic forced the music department to cancel the concert series — the shows will feature local openers, from indie-rock group Amateur to country artist Luke Hendrickson and native blues band Bluedog.
All shows start at 7 p.m., with headliners taking the stage at 8 p.m. Because the series is open to the public, lawn chairs, coolers, and blankets are welcome. On-site concessions will also be available.
