Perkins confirms plans to re-open Rochester south location

Perkins Restaurant & Bakery is making a return to Rochester.

A representative for Perkins confirmed Friday that it will be re-opening the restaurant at 1818 South Broadway. The location, along with another on the north side of town, both closed in November of last year.

“We are excited and pleased to continue a tradition that began over 40 years ago when the first Perkins opened in Rochester,” said Vivian Brooks, a spokesperson for the restaurant chain. “We look forward to welcoming our loyal patrons and new guests into the restaurant and having the opportunity to serve them once again in the near future. “

Brooks told us the re-opened south restaurant will be owned by corporate. The previous two Rochester eateries had been run by a franchisee.

The company anticipates having the Broadway spot open in June.

For now, there do not appear to be plans to re-open the north location.
